Long Beach - East LA Corridor Mobility Investment Plan Adopted!
Last month, the LA Metro Board of Directors voted unanimously to adopt the Long Beach-East LA Corridor Mobility Investment Plan! Developed from 2022 to 2024, the Plan, which is the result of an extensive community-focused effort, invests $1.8 billion into local communities through multi-modal transportation improvements.
HERE led the Community Leadership Committee (CLC), a group of 26 members representing 22 jurisdictions who met monthly to review proposals, provide feedback, and develop recommendations. The level of community involvement was unprecedented for other such transportation efforts. In addition to the CLC, the project included a community Task Force, several working groups, and a expansive public engagement campaign.
At the meeting, the Metro Board shared that the Investment Plan is a significant step in building trust between Metro and local communities throughout the LB-ELA Corridor.
Thanks to our partners and the many community members who worked together to get this completed! We’re excited to see what’s next for continued investment and community collaboration.
