Sofia Gulaid (she/hers)

Urban Designer

Sofia Gulaid is an urban designer and mixed media artist trained in urban planning, wayfinding, and sustainability. She has been working in urban planning and design for four years in Seattle and Boston, and before that worked in camp and urban refugee services in Nairobi, Kenya. Sofia holds a Master in City Planning and certificate in Urban Design from MIT and a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Yale University. 

What motivates Sofia to be an urban designer & planner is how we as designers can work to affirm people and enable them to see their identities reflected in the public realm.
