Mobility Hubs in LA

metro-bikehub-06.jpg

Here LA is working on the 710N Mobility Hubs Plan to design Mobility Hubs and choose hub locations to help improve mobility and reduce congestion in North East LA, South Pasadena, Alhambra, and aras around CalState LA. This area around the 710 Freeway is heavily congested and we expect mobility hubs to provide alternatives for people who don’t want to drive.

So what is a Mobility Hub? A mobility hub is a building or outdoor area area where infrastructure for multiple travel options, like walking, biking, rideshare, and public transit coexist, making it easy to switch from one form of transportation to another. Sometimes mobility hubs include amenities like charging stations for electric vehicles, transit shelters with real-time arrival information, bike share stations, car share facilities, or bike storage and repair.
