What’s a cookin’ at the Here LA studio…
Want to hear about a few of the things we are working on this week?
Among other things, this week we are…
Working with the cities of West Hollywood and Los Angeles on a pilot project along Willoughby. The pilot will test out greenway improvements, like a neighborhood traffic circle, a diverter, and corner curb extensions.
Putting final touches on the Downey Pedestrian Master Plan, which we’ve been working on with Fehr & Peers. Here LA prepared design vignettes to show recommendations for pedestrian improvements at key destinations around the City. We also designed the City’s pedestrian wayfinding system, which includes a family of different sign types.
Designing a parklet and interactive walking tour in Long Beach. The tour uses Augmented Reality to solicit feedback from the community. We’ll work with local high school students to install the parklet and we expect there to be a second art-installation in the winter, at a nearby park.
Celebrating the wrap up of a streetscape design project around a new transit station in Los Angeles. We led the project and spoke with the community to generate this vision plan for the neighborhood.
Collaborating on two First/Last Mile studies, one in Burbank and one in the Westside of Los Angeles.
Lecturing at the Cal Poly School of Landscape Architecture about how to map community assets and analyze site conditions.
Participating in the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Series that is exploring how post-COVID-19 policy and planning can lead to more just, equitable, and sustainable transportation systems.
